Horses and stormy skies, yes please! I made the drive out to Kincardine Ontario for Cynthia and Andrew’s engagement session over the summer. Her parent’s have an amazing farm with horses and the surrounding areas are beautiful as well. I love going to new places around Ontario, especially for photography. We had some very dramatic skies through the entire session, I think we got lightly rained on by the end, but overall it made for some beautiful light and dramatic photos.
You can tell these two are so in love, and I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding in the summer.
Amanda and Daniel are super stylish and fun. We took their engagement at The Drake Hotel and around Queen West. I will blog their whole session soon, but here is a preview from our session. I have been loving our beautiful fall and editing non-stop, and halloween is getting closer. I’m going to dress Eve up as a bear, stay tuned on my Instagram for cute photos.
I love it when couples make bold choices with their wardrobe, it always looks good.
Engagement photos Toronto – Corktown
We took Cayleigh + Sven’s engagement photos starting at their condo and just wandering around their neighbourhood in Corktown. Toronto is full of great photo locations for engagement photos, both urban and nature. Corktown is a really cool neighbourhood, I haven’t spent a lot of time there, but it seems like it’s been well designed and will mature into a great neighbourhood over the years. Our city is getting to be so big, I can’t believe the density as I cross the city in my car, neighbourhood after neighbourhood.
This fall has been amazing for taking photos, so mild and sunny, feels like the best of September. Wedding season is starting to wind down a little bit. I still have some Saturdays open for next summer, please reach out if you are getting married and you think we would connect.
These two have the best hair, and seem to melt into one another’s arms. I really enjoyed the whipping wind and bright sunlight when we shot at the underpass. I also love the shots of the parking lot at the end, the sun was just a bright beam. I was there a little while later after sunset and all the magic was gone. It’s all about the light, it’s the true magic maker.
Aside from that, I’m just editing like crazy and raising an adorable toddler. Editing a wedding takes a while, part of it is the immense number of photos, but I also like to look at my work with fresh eyes several times to make sure it’s all looking right. Also, getting excited for Halloween and stuffing my daughter into a super cute costume. If you’re planning engagement photos in Toronto definitely check out Corktown, or you might be surprised by how many amazing things are around your own neighbourhood.
There are so many locations for Toronto engagement photos, and I’m definitely falling in love with urban engagement sessions this year. Not sure what has changed, but I’m enjoying exploring the city when I’m not out in the fields. Simple things like an underpass make an amazing location for engagement photos around Toronto.
Cayleigh and Sven are getting married this Friday actually, and I will be sharing more from their session this week as well. They both have amazing hair, so how can I resist? haha – that wind and they just look so great together. This was one of my favourite photos from our shoot together. We started their engagement session at their new condo in Corktown. Cayleigh works nearby in the Distillery District. We took photos at their condo and walked around the area and over to Underpass Park and the nearby gardens.
I shot a backyard wedding last weekend, another one of my favourite things. Despite the rain, the bride and groom were game to take all their photos and be outside and we took some beautiful photos. The rain doesn’t have to spell disaster for weddings portraits and one of the most important things is just being flexible with your timeline.
Speaking of weddings, I celebrated my sixth wedding anniversary yesterday! Time flies. Now we have a puppy and a toddler and life looks pretty different.
A frame from my engagement session with Gabby + John, we took these photos around the Rosetta McClain Gardens, and I’m in love with the unique trees they have there.
